How Much Does Commercial Epoxy Flooring Cost in Houston?
Most commercial epoxy floors cost about $5 to $9 per square foot installed. That sits inside a wider published range of $3 to $14 per square foot. What does each epoxy system cost per square foot?
The system drives the number more than anything else. A thin roll on coating and a quartz broadcast floor are different products with different lifespans.

Commercial guides also price the finish as an add on over plain solid color. Full flake adds about $1.50 to $2.50 per square foot. Quartz adds $2 to $3.50, and metallic adds $3 to $5.
A polyaspartic topcoat costs more than a standard clear coat. What you buy is speed and a topcoat that will not yellow in the sun.
What does a coated floor cost by type of space?
Use matters. The same slab costs more to coat when hot water, grease or forklifts are part of the day.

Hangars are not a line item in the cost guides. Budget one like a warehouse floor, then add striping and any logo work. We installed the hangar floors at the Lone Star Flight Museum. A customer wrote that the museum moves 40 or more planes a month across them.
What drives the price up or down?
Six things move the number more than the color you pick.
Prep. Every coating starts with a diamond grind that opens the concrete. Guides price prep on a sound slab at about $0.75 to $1.50 per square foot.
Old coating removal. Stripping old epoxy, sealer, paint, mastic or carpet glue runs about $2.50 to $6 per square foot. This item changes a retrofit budget more than any other.
Moisture. Houston slabs sit on Gulf Coast clay and stay damp. Vapor rising through concrete is the top reason coatings fail here. A moisture test is cheap. A vapor barrier primer adds about $1.50 to $3 per square foot, plus a day or two on the schedule.
Striping and logos. Industrial striping guides put line work at roughly $2 to $4 per linear foot in 2026. The full range runs $1.50 to $5.50 depending on material and prep. Texture for wet zones is priced alongside it, so read anti slip floor coatings before you set the budget.
Downtime. Phased work adds 15 to 35 percent in published guides. Coating a warehouse in halves costs more than coating it in one pass, because the crew mobilizes twice.
Square footage. Small jobs carry a premium. Under 3,000 square feet, expect 30 to 50 percent more per square foot. Over 20,000 square feet, expect 15 to 20 percent less.
How much does it cost to epoxy 1,000 square feet?
At $5 to $9 per square foot, 1,000 square feet is about $5,000 to $9,000. National cost guides show a wider $2,800 to $11,500 for that size. The low end is a thin coating. The high end is a heavy system over a rough slab.

How do you budget a commercial floor project?
Start with measured square footage instead of a guess. Pick the system by use: office traffic, forklift traffic, hot water, chemicals or a showroom look.
Have the slab moisture tested before anyone prices a coating. Ask for prep and old coating removal as separate written lines. Price striping and logo work by the linear foot, not by the square foot.
Hold back 10 to 15 percent of the budget for slab repair. Cracks, spalls, joints and old patch material show up once grinding starts. Then pick your slow week for the shutdown, since schedule pressure carries a real cost.
