Commercial Epoxy Flooring in Houston, TX

Floors built for forklifts, pallet jacks and heavy traffic

Commercial epoxy flooring has to survive the way your building actually works. We coat warehouses, aircraft hangars, auto shops, dealership service bays, showrooms, retail floors, offices and plant floors across Greater Houston. A commercial build runs thicker than a home garage floor, usually 2 to 3 millimeters. That thickness takes lift truck wheels, dropped tools and steel casters.

We have coated floors in Houston since 2008, more than 3.5 million square feet of it. Four crews run the work, so a large floor moves in planned stages. Where a fast return to service matters, a full polyaspartic floor coating can go down in a day. Estimates are free and start with a look at your slab and a moisture test.

What We Handle

  • Warehouse and distribution floors that take lift truck and pallet jack traffic
  • Aircraft hangar floors, including the hangar floors at the Lone Star Flight Museum
  • Auto shop and dealership service bays built for oil, coolant and hydraulic fluid
  • Showroom, retail, office and lobby floors in gloss, satin or flat finishes
  • Safety line striping, marked aisles and walkways in high visibility colors
  • Custom logos and decals set into the floor under the clear coat
  • Build thickness of 2 to 3 millimeters, chosen by how the floor gets used
  • Diamond grinding, crack and joint repair, a moisture test and a vapor barrier primer when the test calls for it

Industrial epoxy flooring for warehouses, hangars and shops

Every building wears its floor differently. A distribution warehouse takes lift truck wheels down the same lanes all day. An aircraft hangar takes tow bars, jack stands and the weight of the planes. Auto shops and dealership service bays take oil, coolant, hydraulic fluid and lift traffic.

We coated the hangar floors at the Lone Star Flight Museum, out at Ellington Airport in southeast Houston. One customer wrote that the museum moves 40 or more planes a month across them. That is the kind of load a commercial build is sized for.

Showrooms, retail floors and offices are a different job, because the look carries more weight. A lobby or sales floor can take a metallic epoxy floor that still cleans with a mop. Restaurants and food plants need a floor built for hot water and grease. Those jobs run as commercial kitchen floors.

How much downtime does a commercial epoxy floor coating take?

That is the first question most managers ask. The answer depends on the size of the slab and how fast you need the space back. Prep comes first. We diamond grind the concrete, repair cracks and joints, and run a moisture test.

Most commercial jobs run in sections. We coat one bay, aisle or room at a time, so the rest of the building keeps working. When one day is all the downtime you have, a full polyaspartic system fits the schedule. It cures fast enough to hand the floor back the next day.

We plan the stages with you before a crew shows up. Tell us your shipping schedule, your service bays or your event calendar, and we build the sequence around it. Crews work weekdays. The work is backed by a written warranty, and we can send you the terms.

Safety striping, walkways and logos in the floor

Line striping goes down inside the coating rather than as tape on top. OSHA's materials handling rule says permanent aisles and passageways have to be marked. Where lift trucks run, painted lines are the usual way to do it. A line built into the floor wears at the same rate as the surface around it.

We lay out aisles, walkways, crosswalks, equipment zones and dock lanes in safety colors. Ramps, wash bays and loading areas can get a textured finish instead of a gloss one. See anti-slip floor coatings for how we pick the texture level.

Logos and decals can be set into the floor and sealed under the clear coat. One hangar floor we coated carries a compass rose in the middle of it. Bay numbers, arrows and a company mark at the entry work the same way.

How We Work

How a Job With Epoxy One Runs

From the first call or text to the walk-through on the finished floor, here is how it goes.

1

Call or text

Reach us at (281) 831-5656 and tell us about the floor. We book estimates on weekdays.

2

Free on-site estimate

We measure the slab, look at its condition and run a moisture test. Then you get a quote for the system we recommend.

3

Color and finish

Pick the color and finish from samples. Options include full flake, solid color, quartz and metallic.

4

Prep and coats

We diamond grind the slab and repair cracks and joints. A vapor barrier primer goes down when the moisture test calls for it. Then comes the base coat, the flake or pigment broadcast, and the clear topcoat.

5

Cure and walk-through

Most garages are a two-day job, and a metallic floor takes about three days. We do a final walk-through and tell you when to drive on the floor.

Call (281) 831-5656

How thick is a commercial epoxy floor?
Most of our commercial floors go down at 2 to 3 millimeters. The right thickness depends on what rolls across the slab and what gets spilled on it. A warehouse aisle under lift trucks gets more build than an office. We set it after we see the floor.
Can you coat the floor while we stay open?
In most buildings, yes. We split the slab into sections and coat one bay or room at a time. You keep working in the rest of the space while a section cures. We set the sequence with you first.
Will the coating hold up to forklifts and heavy equipment?
That is what a commercial build is for. Strength starts with the bond to the concrete, so we diamond grind and repair the slab first. An epoxy base coat grips the concrete, and a polyaspartic or polyurea topcoat takes the abrasion. Racking and jack stand loads get planned into the build.
Can you coat over an old epoxy floor?
Usually. Grinding off a worn or failing coating is part of our prep. If the old floor is lifting from moisture in the slab, that gets handled first. A moisture test tells us whether a vapor barrier primer belongs in the build.
What about moisture coming up through the slab?
Moisture vapor is the number one reason floor coatings fail in Houston. Slabs here sit on Gulf Coast clay and stay damp. Vapor pushes up under a coating until it lets go, so every job includes a moisture test.
What does commercial epoxy flooring cost?
Price follows the square footage, the condition of the slab and the system the space needs. Striping, logos and a textured finish add to it, and so does a tight downtime window. We look at the slab, run a moisture test and price it at no charge. Call or text (281) 831-5656 or ask for a free estimate.

These guys did my garage floor back in November, Pablo really knows the technical knowledge and recommend a vapor barrier to be put down first. 3 months in and it still looks brand new. Went with Folsom color choice. Super easy to work with and plan around the drywall crew. Highly recommended!

I work for a custom home builder in the Houston area and we have been using Xpedite Coating for many years on our garage epoxy floors. They are very professional and timely and always leave the site clean after they are finished. I would highly recommend them for your next epoxy flooring need.

I used Xpedite Coatings twice to finish my epoxy flake garage floor at 2 properties. This guy is professional at what they do. The crew came and finished the job in a timely manner. The results look great and price is competitive. Highly recommended.
